The Decemberists have rescheduled a Central New York concert that was originally scuttled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The indie rock band will perform at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards in LaFayette on Saturday, August 20. Doors open at 5 p.m.; music begins at 7 p.m. with special guest Brigid Mae Power.

The Decemberists, led by singer Colin Meloy, first formed in 2000 and have released eight albums. Their 2011 song “Down by the Water” was nominated for Best Rock Song at the Grammys.

Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards is located at 2708 Lords Hill Rd. (Rt. 80) in LaFayette. Past acts who played the Beak & Skiff Summer Concert Series include X Ambassadors, Lord Huron, Indigo Girls, Bruce Hornsby, Ani DiFranco and 10,000 Maniacs.

The Decemberists played to a sold out crowd in April 2018 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva.
