Heron Draw Tournament Lacrosse!
This weekend HWS hosts the Heron Draw Tournament at McCooey Field in Geneva. After a wild battle against Cortland that wasn’t decided until the final minutes, we’ve got two good games on WHWS for you:
- Saturday 4/5 at 11am on WHWS 105.7FM it’s round one of the Heron Draw Tournament with undefeated 6-0 William Smith facing a tough 6-3 Lycoming team, live from McCooey Field on the HWS campus.
- Sunday 4/6 at 1:30pm, the Heron Draw Tournament continues on WHWS 105.7FM, with William Smith taking on Denison’s Big Red…Denison is only 2-4 overall this season, but their last game was a 21-13 pounding of Oberlin, so don’t underestimate them!
Join us for live coverage on 105.7FM and here on the web!

They’ll be facing Colby-Sawyer Friday March 7th at 8pm (may be delayed slightly if the Brockport State/Emmanuel match, which starts at 6pm, runs long). If they win, they’ll play again at Bristol at 7pm on Saturday March 8th.
In keeping with tradition, coverage of all HWS sports in the NCAA tournament is broadcast on WEOS 89.7fm (90.3 in Geneva, 88.1 in Ithaca). See weos.org for the webcast as well.

Signal Issue with the Cold & Show
Sometimes when we get a certain combination of cold and snow at our transmitter site (on the HWS campus) then ice will form on the antenna itself. This causes the signal strength to significantly degrade until the ice melts. It doesn’t happen all that often considering this is upstate New York, but it seems like it was happening earlier this week.
We apologize for the degraded signal…and if it happens often enough we’ll start looking into solutions (either antenna heaters or radomes a.k.a. antenna slipcovers).
