The Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance will hold its 26th annual 4-day event from July 21st to July 24th in Trumansburg, NY. The festival will host more than 80 bands and performers featuring local as well as national and international artists.
The festival’s hosts, and all-time favorites, Donna the Buffalo, will be joined by American folk rock duo the Indigo Girls and 12-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. Other headliners include rock band sensation Silversun Pickups, hailed as one of the most dynamic and creative rock bands of this era, as well as northern California native Brett Dennen, know best for his clever rhymes and gentle folk/pop sound.
This year’s festival will once again highlight acclaimed musical talents from around the globe including: Afro-pop pioneer, Orlando Julius & the Afrosoundz, 2015 Latin Grammy Best New Artist, Monsieur Periné, Ugandan artist Kinobe & The Wamu Spirit, De Temps Antan from Quebec and Cuban sensation Santa Palabra.
In addition, the festival will feature many American Roots favorites such as Jim Lauderdale, Keith Frank& Soileau Zydeco, Lurrie Bell and the Campbell Brothers to name a few. Regional and local favorites such as John Brown’s Body, Driftwood, Sim Redmond Band, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Sophistafunk will also perform along with 50 additional bands you don’t want to miss.
Other festival offerings include camping, local craft and food vendors, children’s activities, daily yoga, healing arts workshops, and visual arts exhibits. The festival is held at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds on Route 96 in Trumansburg. Tickets are now available.
